Cheerful office coordinators will help with scheduling and financing of your dental appointments. Our experienced dental assistants are happy to answer any questions regarding your treatment and have only your comfort in mind. Our dental hygienists believe in gentle dentistry and are highly trained in overall gingival and dental health.
Dr. Kenisha Grant-Hyman, DDS
Dr. Kenisha Grant is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Norfolk State University and her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Grant served the socioeconomically challenged community for three years before forming Horizon Family Dentistry in 2008.
Dr. Brandy Joyner, DDS
Dr. Brandy Joyner was born and raised in Elizabeth City, NC. She began practicing in 2005 after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina State University and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to forming Horizon Family Dentistry in 2008, Dr. Joyner also treated the underserved for three years.
Raquel Cosme
Scheduling Coordinator/Office Practice Administrator
Raquel Cosme is the Scheduling Coordinator/Office Practice Administrator at Horizon Family Dentistry. She is most likely the first voice you will hear when you call the office. Raquel is fluent in Spanish. Raquel states, “I take great pleasure in developing long lasting relationships with all the patients of Horizon Family Dentistry. I really enjoy being a part of this wonderful team.”
Raquel is a native of New Jersey. She is currently married with three wonderful children and two dogs. Raquel and her family now live in Garner, North Carolina. During her spare time she enjoys spending every moment with her family and making them happy.
Brandy Carpenter
Office Assistant/Receptionist
Brandy Carpenter is a native of Wake Forest, North Carolina. She joins the Horizon Family Dentistry team with over 5 years of Medical Assistant/Receptionist experience. Brandy states, “ I like to see the patients smiling and having a stress free experience at the dental office. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know all the patients.” Brandy has one son named Ethan. During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son at the park, taking him to baseball practice, and Tae Kwon Do classes. Brandy takes great pleasure in learning new things and making sure her family is happy.
Ikea Walton
Dental Assistant II
Ikea Walton is a native of Wake Forest, North Carolina. She attended Sunrise School of Dental Assisting. Ikea has been a dental assistant at Horizon Family Dentistry since September 2008. She enjoys working directly with patients and using her dental assisting skills. Ikea states, “I look forward in meeting each and every patient. I take great pleasure in helping our patients at Horizon Family Dentistry achieve their dream of having a gorgeous and healthy smile.”
Jen Bell
Registered Dental Hygienist
Jen Bell comes to Horizon Family Dentistry with over 16 years of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She takes great pleasure in educating each patient on achieving optimal oral hygiene and oral health. She possesses a professional, charismatic, and caring personality. Jen has a strong passion for her work. Jen states, “I enjoy working at Horizon Family Dentistry. I look forward in meeting each and every patient of Horizon Family Dentistry and managing their healthy smile.”
